What diners say
Reviews via GoogleAlthough having limited experience with Turkish cuisine, been getting a myriad of Turkish restaurants popping up on my Instagram feed. So decided to try Konak, based on the Google reviews, proximity to my house and relatively easy parking. Arriving for a Sunday lunch, the unassuming strip mall exterior hides an inviting, comfortable interior. Patient and caring service was provided by Betul, as we decided to have the mixed kebob to sample as much variety for a first visit. Starting with bread and salad, the arrival of the mixed kebob was a feast for the eyes and taste buds. Everything was delicious and generously portioned. Despite having leftovers, decided to have baklava and kunefe for dessert. Totally satisfied with the meal, service and general dining experience at Konak. I look forward to future visits and trying more dishes.
Friend and I checked in here just before 6:30 pm, and it turns out it was a great decision because this place was absolutely bustling at 7:00 p.m. We got the mixed kebab platter for two. Lamb and veal were amazing. Chicken was well-seasoned but not nearly as good as the lamb. Doner was a little bland and dry. Came with a complementary salad - it was REALLY heavy on the vinaigrette, and I'm not a huge fan of any vinaigrette. Also came with complementary naan which was very tasty. Overall I would come back but only get lamb or veal and definitely before 6:30 pm. If a salad comes with any of it, I would ask for NO vinaigrette. Highly recommend coming earlier. LEGEND: I'll be back only if... 1: I'm being paid to eat here (ex. work) 2: A friend is treating (or ↑; being paid) 3: There's a promo/discount (or ↑; friend treats) 4: It's nearby or on the way (or ↑; promo) 5: As soon as I crave this cuisine (or ↑) This is a true "4" for me, but in the spirit of supporting local businesses, we're rounding up to a 5.
I've wanted to try Konak for months, following a Turkish friend's recommendation and my own visits to over a dozen other Turkish restaurants in the GTA throughout the years. This is the best Turkish food I've had in Toronto. The dips, spreads and salad to start the meal were delicious, complemented by the fresh bread and tea served as well. We ordered the mixed grill platter to share, along with the sujuk pide and lahmacun - every item was delicious, the meats were seasoned and cooked perfectly. Staff were very gracious with their time and service was amazing - our server Elif ensured that our appetizers were ready within minutes of ordering, with main dishes following almost instantly thereafter. Despite staying well past our reservation, the staff kept us entertained and never rushed. I can't recommend this spot enough and intend to return soon!
Very Pleasantly Surprised! Konak Turkish Cuisine popped up on my screen when I was searching online for a nearby Turkish restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday with family. After a brief review of the menu offerings, I chose this restaurant without any recommendations from anyone. The location is close to Hwy 401 and there's plenty of parking. The restaurant's ambience is quite pleasant. And we were met by the receptionist courteously. The grilling station was open to view and the cooks doing the grilling wore hairnets ( for health regulations ) which immediately impressed us. Our server, BERAT, is the best! From the get go, he was very accommodating to each of us, 10 guests with differing requests and he made sure that all our needs were attended to. THE FOOD ... choosing what to order was not easy as everything on the menu looked quite delicious. After our meals, everyone agreed that the offerings in this restaurant are very delicious and reasonably priced. We all agreed that all of us will come to Konak Turkish Cuisine for more! I highly recommend this restaurant for a great experience on Turkish cuisine!
A gem that my husband found in Scarborough. Food and portion size was great. Everything was delicious. If it's your first time or you can't make up your mind - get the kebab mix, it has everything (that's what we ordered). Our server, Betul, was very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed our meal a lot and will definitely come back!
